Eagle Projects

JT  is currently working on his Eagle Scout service project. He is collecting donations for soldiers' care packages through the Military Missions charity. He has placed a box at the scout house to collect donations.  Please see JT for a list of items recommended to donate.

Come out and help with JH's Eagle project on Saturday September 15th. His plan is to  rebuild and expand the Winburn Middle School rain garden. Rain gardens absorb runoff to improve water quality. This would help diminish erosion and water pollution, as well as give the school a visually appealing look.

The details for the project:

When: 8am - 1pm (this is merely an estimate; it's just how fast we can
get the project done)
Where: 1060 Winburn Drive
What to bring: gloves, shovels, and anything you would like to bring
to help weed the garden, such as  a spade or that metal stick thingy
that tears out roots

 lunch will be provided
This is what we will we doing:
-outline boundaries of the garden
-weed the garden and dispose of the weeds properly
-excavate the soil and till; a 6" berm will be made to hold water in
-if needed, topsoil will be added; the soil will then need to be leveled off
-plant the plants in accordance to a map prepared
-mulch the garden to finish it off
